Crash!

I am awaken in a pool of blood, her screams sweetly galvanize my senses with each concussion of my mallet. She has done wrong to people and must be punished for her sins.

Crash!

I strike again with the hammer, crushing her body. She deserves all the righteous punishment I am to administer in the name of our Lord.

Crash!

Her screams reverberate of the suffocating stone walls that surround us. They act as silent witnesses to just retribution.

Crash!

Noone will hear her cries down here in this deep, dark labyrinth. Noone except for the skeletal remains of those who have met their own righteous fates.

Crash!

The lantern above me, now covered in a sheet of red swings back and forth casting scarlet illumination across the masonry. Everything is covered in blood now.

Crash!

She is beginning to fade into the shadows of her tainted soul. She lasted longer than most others, which tells me her sins were very great. Her life is almost over.

Crash!

My final sweeping arc of the mallet crushes her for the last time. A final breath escapes her torn throat and lacerated lips as her body relaxes. Her eyes stare in wonder at the ceiling as though she at last understood her sins, only it was too late.

Crash!

I let the hammer fall to the cold floor. It splashes in a puddle of blood. I remove my apron and hang it on the wall. Before I leave I turn and close the heavy iron door behind me.

Crash!
I was sitting in math class one day, very bored and decided that my notebook could be put to better use if I wrote in it. While probing my mind for inspiration I remembered a piece of writing I had read recently, Poe's "The Pit and the Pendulum". I have never written something like this before so please feel free to comment on this piece. i will say that this is not the best work I could do, more then likely because I was pressed for time.

The idea of this piece was to show how religion, though a typically good ideal, can be used as an excuse for great deeds of evil. e.g. The Spanish Inquisition or the Holocaust.

That was great! It reminds me about the people in the new Silent Hill movie. They thought they were doing good in the name of the Lord but the were bot. They ended up creating a great evil. Very good work my friend.
